         An Indian discovered that nobody can create a FOLDER anywhere on the
computer which can be named as "CON". This is something pretty
cool...and unbelievable...

TRY IT NOW ,IT WILL NOT CREATE " CON " FOLDER

For those of you using Windows, do the following:
 1.) Open an empty notepad file
2.) Type "Bush hid the facts" (without the quotes)
3.) Save it as whatever you want.
4.) Close it, and re-open it.
                                                is it just a really weird bug? :-??

This is something pretty cool and neat...and unbelievable... why
this happened!

It was discovered by a Brazilian. Try it out yourself...
Open Microsoft Word and type

=rand (200, 99)

And then press ENTER

Then see the magic

REASONS :

the microsoft knowledge base linked to above gives only AUX, CON, NUL and PRN as reserved names whereas while i tried to figure out the reason i found CON to be console device. when we type "mode" command in command prompt we can see the devices/ports. hence i found we cannot create folders with names LPT1, LPT2, .... LPT9 and also COM1, COM2, .... COM9.

heard about RAND and also that it is a command but understood only now. thnx for d knowledge base link.

the notepad error i've heard is because notepad tries to identify the encoding (ANSI, Unicode, Unicode big endian, UTF-8) from the first few bytes which is why it behaves in such a manner. and hence if it wrongly identifies the ANSI text as any other encoding it displays it wierdly like it happens for "Bush hid the facts". hence notepad unintentionally hid the facts
