10 Most Dangerous Cities in the World in 2010 !!!

Many of us, I’m sure, dream of traveling the world. Exploring new cultures and witnessing some of the mostbreathtaking places in far away exotic places. Most of us will have at least one destination we wish we could escape to whenever we are sick of home. But with the good comes the bad, places we would never consider visiting because we’ve heard about their bad reputations in the news. Well, in no particular order, here are ten of the most dangerous cities in the world that we would not dare to visit.

1. Baghdad, Iraq

As this horrifying image depicts, a river of blood coupled with bombed out vehicles is nothing new to the locals of Baghdad. The war-torn capital of Iraq was declared the least safest city in the world, according to Mercer’s 2008 quality of living global index. With a history of violence, war, bombings and bloodshed today’s Baghdad has seen little change despite the execution of their ruler Saddam Hussein. Since the U.S. invasion in 2003 more than 650,000 civilians have lost their lives and thousands of others have fled the danger.

2. Detroit, USA

The American city known as “Motor City” was the top of Forbes’ list of the ten most dangerous cities around American in 2009. The magazine based its finding on violent crime statistics, which they obtained from the FBI’s crime reports. In case you were wondering there was a reported 1,220 violent crimes committed per 100,000 people in the city.

3. Karachi, Pakistan

Ranked as one of Asia’s lowest-scoring destinations for personal safety according to Mercer’s study. In recent years Karachi has seen repeated terror attacks and suicide bombings. In February this year more than 30 people were killed in a dual bomb attack, while in December 2009 another blast saw the death toll reach over 40 (pictured).

4. Chechnya, Russia

It is said that the Russian Mafia runs the city with more gangsters than police, while a Russian is assassinated every 18 minutes averaging 84 murders per day in a nation of 143 million. The city has also been accused of extremism, racism, prostitution, drug trafficking and kidnappings, not to mention the untold violence dished out by the Chechen rebels.

5. Mogadishu, Somalia

Somalia’s capital has been devastated by the ongoing civil war. In 2008 statistics showed that half of the city’s population (0.5 million) had fled the war-torn area. Dozens of people are injured every day by the conflict while frequent bombings kill many civilians. Since President Siad Barre was usurped from power in 1991 over one million Somalians have lost their lives due to the civil war or famine.

6. Ciudad Juárez, Mexico

Home to 1.5 million people the city lies on the border with the U.S. In recent times it has seen a rapid increase in shocking violent crimes, mainly due to the feuding drug cartels. Their violence has put an increased risk on the safety of locals. Since January 2007 there’s been 8,330 drug-related murders in Mexico, 50% of which came from Ciudad Juárez. The city has 130 murders reported per 100,000 inhabitants.

7. Caracas, Venezuela

The Foreign Policy magazine dubbed Caracas as the “murder capital of the world” at the end of 2008. In December of that year alone there were 510 people murdered. Like Ciudad Juárez the majority of the violence comes from gangs and drug wars. There has also been an increase in poverty in Venezuela’s capital; between the 1970s and 1990s the poverty rate increased by 300% to 65%. It’s also been reported that the murder rate has increased by 67% since President Chavez took over.

8. New Orleans, USA

The murder capital of the USA sees an average 95 murders per 100,000 residents, which is shockingly high when you consider the fact that there are only 300,000 residents in the city overall. Even scarier when you think that Time magazine reported that Baghdad has a murder rate of 48 per 100,000 residents. Violence in the area is rife because it is one of the poorest in the U.S. Hurricane Katrina did little to help that problem either.

9. Cape Town, South Africa

South Africa has been riddled with crime for years now and Cape Town is the most dangerous city in the country. Murder and robbery, rape and kidnappings are the biggest problems in the area, and tourists are notable targets. It has a murder rate of 62 to every 100,000 residents. Travelling alone at night and even using an ATM alone is strongly advised against. Sexual offenses, robberies and burglaries have all increased in the last two years; 71,500 sexual offenses (10% rise), 13,900 robberies (41% rise) and 18,400 burglaries (27% rise).

10. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Despite being home to the world’s biggest carnival Rio de Janeiro is also one of the most dangerous places on Earth. As soon as travelers get off the plane they are handed leaflets of do’s and dont’s. Not wearing jewelery and not carrying your wallet (take as little money out with you as you can) are some of the things visitors are told. In the last two years crime rates have risen, especially violent crimes. A local drug cartel known as the Pirahnas are largely responsible for the increased violence and are notorious for abductions too. Last year there were 8,000 murders in the city, which is close to 20 a day!

Top 5 Most Dangerous Cities for live of the World

The crime statistics of world's five most dangerous cities are disheartening and shocking. With such high rates of homicide, robberies and violence these cities deservedly bear the names of 'the places of chaos and death' or 'the murder capitals of the world'. Despite the scary data, some of them still remain wantedtourist destinations, though extreme caution is strongly advised when visiting.

5. Cape Town. South Africa.

62 killings per 100 000 residents

Cape Town

Crime has been a major problem in South Africa (both for locals and travelers) for many years now, and the murder and robbery statistics loom large in today's society.
The "good" news is that the number of killings declined by 3.4% to around 18 000 (sic!) between April 2008 and March 2009. Still there are 50 murders a day in South Africa. The latest data shows that there have been 71,500 sexual offenses (10% increase), 18,400 burglaries (27% increase), and 13,900 business robberies (41% increase) reported from April 2008 to March 2009. If it's any consolation, the street robbery declined by 7% to 72,194.

The beautifully located Cape Town is among the most dangerous towns in the country due to its high level of robberies, rapes, kidnappings and murders. The city is about the same size as Caracas and it has a murder rate of 62 per 100,000 inhabitants. According to the police, the homicides usually occur in the poorer districts and suburbs of the town rather than in upscale areas. Due to the poverty (the country has been facing a deep recession) the robberies are common. Therefore, traveling alone and using ATM's at night is not advised.

4. New Orleans. The USA.

95 killings per 100 000 residents

New Orleans

The homicide rate in New Orleans ranks way above other American cities and towns, and therefore the city has been named the murder capital of the USA. The total number of murders equaled 179 in 2008 in this small city of around 300,000 residents. Nevertheless, there have been 15% fewer killings in 2008 than in 2007 when the police reported 210 murders. Also other crime rates are dropping in the town. Rape went down by 44% and armed robbery 4.85% in 2008 in comparison to 2007.

Still, according to the FBI data there have been 95 homicides per 100,000 residents in 2008. In turn New Orleans Police Department reported 67 murders per 100,000 in 2008. A scary comparison has recently been made by the Time magazine stating that Baghdad in Iraq with its murder rate of about 48 per 100,000 people is now being safer, considering the statistics, than New Orleans.
Violent crime is a serious problem especially in the low-income neighborhoods of the town. Lonely Planet advises travelers to New Orleans to be cautious and avoid walks at night, especially if you are alone.

3. Caracas. Venezuela.

130 killings per 100 000 residents

Caracas

Another unsafe destination among world's most dangerous cities is Caracas, the capital of Venezuela.
At the end of 2008 the Foreign Policy magazine called the city "the murder capital of the world". According to the official statistics there have been 130 homicides per 100,000 residents in 2008. Only in December 2008 there were at least 510 people killed in the capital, as CNN reported.

The problems of Caracas are not only drug trade and gang battles, but also increasing poverty of the city inhabited by around 4 million people. Murders mainly take place in the capital's poorest areas - between 1970s and 1990s the poverty rate increased by 300% to 65%. Although during the oil boom the economic situation improved, the poverty level remains very high.

Moreover, experts underline that the murder ratio has increased by 67% since President Chavez took control over the country. There is police abuse, no gun control, and no good control over the militias, as various media report.

2. Ciudad Juárez. Mexico

130 killings per 100 000 residents

Ciudad Juárez

Also Mexico, one of the world's greatest travel destinations thanks to its fascinating history and stunning natural sites, is, unfortunately, facing a serious problem of robbery, kidnapping, sexual assault and drug-related crimes.
Among worst affected areas in the country is the Chihuahua state and, above all, Ciudad Juárez. The city located across the U.S and Mexican border, home to 1.5 million people, has recently got a very bad reputation due to its shocking rates of violence. Bloody and violent fighting between the drug cartels have spread across the town, posing a serious threat to locals and travelers.

Since January 2007 there have been 8330 drug-related murders reported in Mexico, of which 50% accounted for Ciudad Juárez. The city reports 130 murders per 100,000 inhabitants (as of August 2009), which is currently the world's highest murder rate ( outside the official war zone). In February 2009 the U.S. State Department announced that since January 2008 there had been 1,800 people killed in the city.

1. Mogadishu. Somalia.

No data

Mogadishu

The governments' warnings about traveling to Somalia are unanimous: this African country remains extremely dangerous and there is an enormous risk to anyone's security due to the threat of terrorism, clan-based and ethnic fighting as well as high level of kidnapping and piracy off the coast.

The epicenter of this brutal crimes and cruelty is Mogadishu, Somalia's capital. The city has been devastated by the ongoing civil war. As of 2008, around half of the city's population (0.5 million) have left the war-torn capital, according to the United Nations. Dozens of people are wounded every day in Mogadishu, and frequent bombings kill many of civilians. No one really knows how many people have been killed in the city, but without dispute Mogadishu remains the most lawless and dangerous city in the world. This is how BBC describes the everyday scenes in Mogadishu: "The crump of mortars; the crackle of gunfire; eerily empty streets; prowling guerrillas and looters; sprawling refugee camps; hospitals overflowing with casualties, their bodies smashed open by bullets, shells and shrapnel...".

Since the overthrow of President Siad Barre in 1991 one million people have lost lives in Somalia due to the civil war and famine.

The 8 Most Dangerous Computer Viruses In History

How would it be if your computer is affected by virus? Certain massage keep pop out or it might cause “fatal” to your PC? Depends on what virus it is. A computer virus is a computer program that can copy itself and infect a computer. Now let’s check out the most dangerous virus in history!

1 ) Jerusalem – 1987

This is one of the first MS-DOS viruses in history that caused enormous destructions, affecting many countries, universities and company worldwide. On Friday 13, 1988 the computer virus managed to infect a number of institutions in Europe, America and the Middle East. The name was given to the virus after one of the first places that got “acquainted” with it – the Jerusalem University.

Along with a number of other computer viruses, including “Cascade”, “Stoned”, “Vienna” the Jerusalem virus managed to infect thousands of computers while still remaining unnoticed. Back then the anti-virus programs were not as advanced as they are today and a lot of users had little belief of the existence of computer viruses.

2 ) Morris (a.k.a. Internet Worm) – November 1988

The Morris worm or Internet worm was one of the first computer worms distributed via the Internet. It is considered the first worm and was certainly the first to gain significant mainstream media attention. It also resulted in the first conviction in the US under the 1986 Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Once the worm discovers an internet connection, all that it must do is download a copy of itself to that location, and continue running as normal. Now it has been 7 years since the Worm was defeated, but it is still worth looking at what happened, both in terms of how the program operated, and as to what conditions allowed it to do what it did. With that in mind, there are a number of subtopics of interest.

3 ) Solar Sunrise – 1998

Two Californian teenagers took American government by surprise, in 1998, when they intruded and took control of around 500 systems that belonged to the governmental as well as private sector. This was done with the help of a computer virus and the situation was given the name of Solar Sunrise, after an operating system called Sun Solaris. The computers that ran this OS had few weaknesses. US government took the incident as another golden opportunity to blame Iraqis but soon found out that the culprits were no other than their own Americans.

Initially it was believed that the attacks were planed by the operatives in Iraq. It was later revealed that the incidents represented the work of two American teenagers from California. After the attacks, the Defense Department took drastic actions to prevent future incidents of this kind.

4 ) Melissa – 1999

The Melissa virus, also known as “Mailissa”, “Simpsons”, “Kwyjibo”, or “Kwejeebo”, is a mass-mailing macro virus. As it is not a standalone program, it is not in fact a worm. Melissa can spread on word processors Microsoft Word 97 and Word 2000 and also Microsoft Excel 97, 2000 and 2003. It can mass-mail itself from e-mail client Microsoft Outlook 97 or Outlook 98. If a Word document containing the virus, either LIST.DOC or another infected file, is downloaded and opened, then the macro in the document runs and attempts to mass mail itself. When the macro mass-mails, it collects the first 50 entries from the alias list or address book and sends itself to the e-mail addresses in those entries.

Melissa computer virus was developed by David L. Smith in Aberdeen Township, New Jersey. Its name comes from a lap dancer that the programmer got acknowledged with while in Florida. After being caught, the creator of the virus was sentenced to 20 months in federal prison and ordered to pay a fine of $5,000. The arrest represented a collaboration of FBI, New Jersey State Police and Monmouth Internet.

5 ) I Love You – May 2000

This is one of the most dangerous worms ever and spread worldwide in only one night. It infected around ten percent of all internet users, and the monetary loss was around $5.5 billion. The process started when a user received an email with the subject “ILOVEYOU” and an attachment “LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs”. As soon as the file was opened, the virus managed to send its copy to every address present in the Windows Address Book. This worm was written by a Filipino student who was punished as Philippines had no law related to such cyber crimes. Perhaps this incident triggered the creation of European Union’s global Cybercrime Treaty.

6 ) The Code Red worm – July 2001

The Code Red worm was a computer worm observed on the Internet on July 13, 2001. It attacked computers running Microsoft’s IIS web server. The Code Red worm was first discovered and researched by eEye Digital Security employees Marc Maiffret and Ryan Permeh. The worm was named the .ida “Code Red” worm because Code Red Mountain Dew was what they were drinking at the time, and because of the phrase “Hacked by Chinese!” with which the worm defaced websites.

Although the worm had been released on July 13, the largest group of infected computers was seen on July 19, 2001. On this day, the number of infected hosts reached 359,000. The worm spread itself using a common type of vulnerability known as a buffer overflow. It did this by using a long string of the repeated character ‘N’ to overflow a buffer, allowing the worm to execute arbitrary code and infect the machine.

7 ) Nimda – 2001

Nimda is a computer worm, and is also a file infector. It quickly spread, eclipsing the economic damage caused by past outbreaks such as Code Red. Multiple propagation vectors allowed Nimda to become the Internet’s most widespread virus/worm within 22 minutes. The worm was released on September 18, 2001. Nimda was considered to be one of the most complicated viruses, having up to 5 different methods of infecting computers systems and duplicating itself.

8 ) Downadup – 2009

The Downadup worm, also known as Conficker and Kido, has affected 6 million PCs in just the past three days, according to British officials. his malicious program was able to spread using a patched Windows flaw. Downadup was successful in spreading across the Web due to the fact that it used a flaw that Microsoft patched in October in order to distantly compromise computers that ran unpatched versions of Microsoft’s operating system. According to New York Times, conficker has more than 7 million computer systems under its control now. China, Argentina, Brazil, Russia, and India were the main affected nations.

How To Remove Newfolder.exe Virus?

Manual Solution:

Step1:
1. Search for autorun.inf file. It is a read only file so you will have to change it to normal by right clicking the file , selecting the properties and un-check the read only option

Step2:
1. Click on start -> run and type gpedit.msc and click Ok.

4. Go to users configuration->Administrative templates->system
5. Find “prevent access to registry editing tools” and change the option to disable.
6. Opening the gate of castle: Group Edit Policies
7. Once you do this you have registry access back.

Step3:
1. Click on start->run and type regedit and click ok
2. Go to edit->find and start the search for regsvr.exe,
3. Launch the attack in the heart of castle: registry search
4. Delete all the occurrence of regsvr.exe; remember to take a backup before deleting. KEEP IN MIND regsvr32.exe is not to be deleted. Delete regsvr.exe occurrences only.
5. At one ore two places you will find it after explorer.exe in theses cases only delete the regsvr.exe part and not the whole part. E.g. Shell = “Explorer.exe regsvr.exe” the just delete the regsvr.exe and leave the explorer.exe

Step4:
1. Click on start->search->for files and folders.
2. Their click all files and folders

6. Seek and destory enemy soldiers: the search option
7. Now hit search and wait for all the exe’s to show up.
8. Once search is over select all the exe files and shift+delete the files, caution must be taken so that you don’t delete the legitimate exe file that you have installed on 31st January.
9. Also selecting lot of files together might make your computer unresponsive so delete them in small bunches.
10. Also find and delete regsvr.exe, svchost .exe( notice an extra space between the svchost and .exe)

Step5:
1. Now do a cold reboot (ie press the reboot button instead) and you are done.
